Thermal imaging diagnostics of electrical networks

Thermal imaging of electrical network elements.Together with the electrotechnical laboratory of the municipal enterprise "City electric networks" in Kuznetsovsk, thermal imaging of elements of electric networks was carried out in order to gain experience in technical diagnostics of electric networks.

Illustrations of the work performed are given below.

Kuznetsovsk 110/35/10 kV substation. VRU-110 kV (2SSH)

Detected. In phase C, there is a defect in the contact connection and a defect in the pressed connection of the 110 kV wire. Judging by the temperature difference between phases B and C, which is 46 ° C, and the defect coefficient, which is 5.9, the defect is an emergency.
It is recommended
to eliminate the defect according to the emergency request (clean the contact connection and repress the pressed connection).

Detected. The temperature difference at the crimping site and the wire temperature at a distance of 1 m, which is 50.7 ° C and the defect coefficient is 7.05.the crimping defect is an emergency.
It is recommended
to fix the defect according to the emergency request as soon as possible, during the repair, re-fix the contact connection and pay attention to the bolted connection of the wire.

Detected. Phase overheating caused by uneven distribution of loads across the connection phases.
Recommendation.
As the defect is an emergency, it is necessary to eliminate it on an emergency request, when carrying out repairs, it is necessary to pay attention to the condition of the contact connections of the switch and fuses. If necessary, replace the switch.

The work carried out allowed:

  1. get experience in diagnostics of power grid elements and electrical equipment;
  2. find emergency power grid elements;
  3. exclude the possibility of accidents in the city's power supply system, which is especially important in winter.
